Physocarpus 'Opul Summer Wine Black' is a native deciduous shrub. Fine-textured, deep burgundy-red foliage with a more compact and refined habit — an excellent shrub for mass plantings and mixed borders where bold, sustained foliage color is desired. Extremely tough and adaptable — thrives in full sun to part shade in average to poor soils. Heat, drought, and cold tolerant. Very low maintenance. Outstanding for mixed borders, mass plantings, and naturalistic landscapes where bold foliage color, white spring flowers, and minimal care are desired.
