Miscanthus 'Zebrinus' is a large ornamental maiden grass. The original zebra grass — upright foliage with distinctive horizontal creamy-yellow bands creates a bold, graphic effect. Reddish-pink plumes appear in late summer. Thrives in full sun to light shade in average, well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established. Cut back hard in late winter before new growth emerges. An outstanding specimen or backdrop plant for large borders — graceful form, showy plumes, and excellent winter presence make it indispensable.
